I have been working on ATC's in between creating my class samples and deadlines...I am thinking an ATC class just might be in the works...are you game.

The class would entail creating backgrounds, paint techniques, collage tips, easy transfer techniques, recycling ideas....the list could go on for ever and ever!

And the Wicked Altered Book Class process continues.....

I am so in love with this project....there is so much eye candy going on its making me want to jump for joy!....I wish you could see how amazing the LuminArte looks covering every square inch of this book. Its like a million and one little diamonds.

Im loving how Skelly Looks sooo comfy in his new abode....now for the fun part. finishish touches and final details....the the books fly off to a store near you. ***if you are interested in my teaching this class near you please comment and we will get in touch.

I went to Michaels today and picked up the new issue of Cloth Paper Scissors and opened up the front cover

to my surprise its the Luminarte Ad that i shot.....I am sooo giddy, i feel like a school girl. :)

Wicked Altered Book Class

I am in the process of designing a Wicked Altered Book halloween class....and i thought i would share a bit of the journey into designing the class. I cannot wait to teach this project.. so many plans....so much paint, so many layers, so much texture, and of course lots of cutting with my favorite craft knife. this is going to be one of the coolest classes i have ever designed....i feel it in my bones.

Spur of the moment goodness

Sophia asked me out of the blue yesterday afternoon if i wanted to do a photo shoot with her...(we never did do senior pictures, don't ask me why) she wanted an hour or two of momma, sophie time...and who am i to turn that down these days when every one is so busy.

She has grown into an incredible young woman with a sweet soul and inner beauty that is sometimes overwhelming to me. I cannot eloquently express how proud i am of her...and how lucky i feel to be her momma.

couldn't resist the chance to really push my imagination and use of props--this has a cool yet a tad twisted appeal to it don't you think?

she kind looks like the latin version of taylor swift.

Wickedly sweet!

Had Starbucks with my dear friend Cheryl Lindsay today....and she gave me this wickedly sweet paper doll that she made using my Creative Imaginations Paintables and my Unity Rubber Stamp....i am sooooooo loving her wicked self. (and I so love my dear friend as well)

Quick little back to school idea

 

When did my baby grow up?

Sent my baby off to middle school this morning...where did time go? Where did my curly haired blued eyed tiny baby go? Who gave her permission to grow up so fast? Who said she could have legs nearly as long as mine already. (not that mine are long at 5'2") gotta say i miss this little cutie

and i miss this crazy little 3yr old goofball....

gonna savor these next 6 years like never before....'cause i am sure it will feel like tomorrow that she will be heading off to college.

 

Starting to build up my photography biz...and other good things

Last weekend I was asked to photograph a wedding for an amazing family. Lucky for me they are both friends and Sophia's boyfriends family. The more time i spend with them the more i fall in love with them. 

How precious is Sophia's boyfriend with his little niece....its a glimpse into a truly magic moment.

Grant and Sophia, they are the picture perfect all american couple....and the picture perfect all american goofballs too (thats the best part of those two)

Editing all of the photos made me think about how incredible photography is. How amazing it is that we can capture moments and relive them over and over, evoking emotions good or not so great again and again. While taking photos this past weekend i realized what an honor it is to be asked to be the one to preserve their memories ... memories that will be passed on from generation to generation. I am looking forward to doing some edgy couple pics and some senior photos... Am i a lucky one or what? Nothing better in the world than being paid to do what you love.
